Partial Parenteral Nutrition

IV, or parenteral, nutrition delivered through a system other than the digestive system because a patient is unable to take enough food by mouth. Partial parenteral nutrition is given for short periods of time, to replace some of the nutrients required daily and only supplements a normal diet. See also TPN and HPN.
